Day 12: 2005-08-07 (Sunday)
Sunday, and I had organised with either Dae-Young or Jack to attend church with one of them. I could not to go both, because the times overlapped. Dae-Young still had problems with his family (they had all been involved in a serious car accident outside their home on the day I arrived in Korea and were still in hospital), so when I rang him, he said he would not be going to church. I rang Jack and made plans to meet him at his church which started at 1330.
We met at SungKyunKwon station and Jack escorted me on a five-minute walk to his church. The service was not dissimilar to what would happen in an Australian church, except of course for the language. Unfortunately, there was no translation for me this time, so I was unable to understand much of what was going on, but I could deduce a few things from what I saw. Jack was very involved in the service, as he was the co-ordinator for the youth group summer camp which was to be held on the following weekend. I understood that he could not spend much time with me because he was so busy, but it was good to visit his church, and he appreciated me coming.
Jack had to attend a meeting after church, so he suggested I should go back home, as there was not much I could do there. He walked me back to the station and I took some photos of him before returning to the guest house.
